Advances in Magnetics Roadmap on Spin-Wave Computing

Magnonics addresses the physical properties of spin waves and utilizes them for data processing. Scalability down to atomic dimensions, operation in GHz-to-THz frequency range, utilization nonlinear nonreciprocal phenomena, compatibility with CMOS are just a few many advantages offered by magnons. Although magnonics is still primarily positioned academic domain, scientific technological challenges field being extensively investigated, proof-of-concept prototypes have already been realized laboratories. This roadmap product collective work authors, which covers versatile spin-wave computing approaches, conceptual building blocks, underlying phenomena. In particular, discusses computation operations Boolean digital data, unconventional such as neuromorphic computing, progress toward magnon-based quantum computing. article organized collection sub-sections grouped into seven large thematic sections. Each sub-section prepared one or group authors concludes brief description current outlook further development each research direction.
